THE EQUIPMENT
Film
Even though most professional photographers are switching to the digital medium
(including myself), I find that the tonal ranges and the contrast that is
inherent in film is still the best way to shoot certain events. That is
why Dosher Studios continues to utilize the Hasselblad Camera system with Kodak
Pro400NC film. It has been a reliable "friend" over the years
and I see no reason to change at this stage in the game.
Digital
I
use the Nikon digital system. By utilizing the extensive array of lenses,
flashes and other equipment that can be used on my existing film cameras as well
as my digital cameras, I find the reliability and durability of my Nikon stock
second to none. I use two Nikon Digital cameras, the D100 and the
D200. I also own a number of Kodak digital cameras for commercial and
sports applications. For flash photography, I utilize numerous SB-800 strobes.
Studio
Equipment
For my studio portraiture, I use the Novatron system. Like Nikon, it
has provided me with durability and reliability for over 14 years.
With film or with digital capture, I completely agree with the concept that
digital proofing is the easiest and simplest way to show off my prints.
For studio sessions, I use a digital projector to "proof" my images
while my clients place their order.
I also utilize digital proofing via this website. Clients may view
their proofs from a particular event and place orders online.
As for my studio, I have over 3000 sq ft of shooting space in my shooting
room. This allows me to photograph very large groups or very large
products in a controlled atmosphere.
